Khaahish-e-NaTamaam

Is se pehlay keh
Dasht-e-imkaa.n mein
Vasl-e-jaa.n ki arzoo na rahay
Is se pehlay keh baar-e-gham se kaheen
Tujh ko paanay ki justuju na rahay
Is se pehlay keh dasht-e-khaahish mein
Farsh-e-afsurdgi bichay sar-e-raah
Laut aao keh muntazir hai nigaah
Is se pehlay keh lauh-e-qismat per
Baab-e-ulfat tamaam ho jaaye
Is se pehlay keh shaam ho jaaye

*dasht-e-imkaa.n = desert of possibilities
*vasl = milan, milaap
*baar = weight; bojh
*justuju = talaash; trying to achieve/get something
*dasht-e-khaahish = desert of wishes/desires
*farsh-e-afsurdgi = udaasi ka bichona; land of sadness
*sar-e-rah = in the beginning of a pathway
*muntazir = waiting
*lauh = tablet; dis cheez pe taqdeer likhi jaati hai (by God)
*baab-e-ulfat = door of love

(Lest my barren land of hopes gives up your desire..
before the burden of my sadness renders me incapable of wishing [you],
before my life becomes a picture of sorrow.....
come back
my eyes are searching for you,
come back before time runs out for my fate to be written
and love closes its door upon me,
come back before the sun sets [and it gets too late])

Is it freaky or what that I was JUST thinking of the same meaning for the word?!

Glad you liked the poem.

Didn't mean to offend anyone with that line. It's meaning, not the literal one though, went with the reason for starting this blog. But I see your point and I agree.

Btw I would like to know your thoughts on my posts on my blog (momsdaughter - link can be found in the left menu).
