Do Dilon Ki Qurbat Mein

Do dilon ki qurbat mein
Teesra nahin hota
Vaastay nahin chaltay
Dosti ke rishton mein
Parvarish zaroori hai
Silsilay ta'lluq ke
Khud se ban to jaatay hain
Lekin in shagoofon ko
Toot ke bikharnay se
Rokna bhi parta hai
Chahaton ki mitti se
Aarzu ke paudon ko
Seenchna bhi parta hai
Ranjishon ki baaton ko
Bhoolna bhi parta hai

~ Amjad Islam Amjad

qurbat = closeness
vaastay = references!
parvarish = to raise
shagoofon = flowers/plants
seenchna = raise with one's blood; something that's very hard to grow
ranjishon = grudges

I meant promises because I couldn't think of a practical translation word for the term 'qasmain'. But I meant it in the usage you've explained in the context of references.

actually "vaastey" is derived from the an arabic word "vaasta" which means reference, so vaastey=references

when you are close enough to a person, there is no place for the third person, or any kind of reference.
